Thanks for sharing this information! I understand the difficulty of maintaining student & teacher friendly websites. There has been some great dialogue on the topic of web filtering on Will Richardson's blog http://tr.im/1lgz.

The reason I included this information was because I think this is one of a few major obstacles to teachers using many of the available technologies in their classroom. The others may be more difficult to resolve or get around, but if we can remove or reduce the size of some of these obstacles, teachers should be more likely to start trying some of these applications. Thanks for the comment and the link. Will Richardson is great. You're right. A lot of good comments there.

Koga, one website I really enjoy helping out at is http://www.algebra.com/ Some of that will be over your head. But much will be things you can do now or learn quickly. Here is a link to a page with some 'fun stuff' http://collabvsl.wetpaint.com/page/Mathematics+FunAgain, some may be too easy or too hard, but still fun to try. I hope you find other good places for input. And when you do, please think about adding links to them in this wiki :) Vic

That's ok. Your site's really taking shape. It's really hard sometimes to get peers into this technology. I think this is because of varying confidence with ICT technologies. In Australia there's lots happening but as I work in the community education sector, the funding for state-of-the-art hardware is extremely limited (well almost non-existent). Hope to run a pilot course online this year using a virtual classroom tool. Anyway, I hope things go well for you and your peers. Sincerely.

I'm looking for resources, articles, ideas related to algebraic thinking. What is it? What are the related instructional challenges? If we know what it is then how do we develop it?

I agree that both technology and dispositions/values are legitimate tools (not exclusive to mathematics). Both of these could, with careful work, could come under another of Kriegler's categories. Problem solving seems the most applicable. Now that I think about it, what do you mean by technology as a thinking tool? I think it depends on what you mean.
